For many reasons plans can change. Possibly in this current situation, it may be the COVID-19 has had an impact.

Let’s have a gentle reality check, it will be ok. That’s right – it will all be ok. Just breathe.

Your big day is a big deal, but postponing or changing plans can be out of your control and you have a choice to make. You can choose to roll with it and make the day the best it can be, or you can dwell on the changes and miss an opportunity to celebrate a wondrous occasion with your life partner.

With our experienced and professional team of Melbourne MC DJs at Black Tie Events, we’ve been a part of many events that were slightly different to the original plan, or some that were moved, altered or postponed due to illness, natural disasters, financial emergencies and more recently – pandemics.

The thing to remember is that changes are a part of life and you are in control of how you react. It will all be ok. The dreaded ‘C’ word . . . . cancellation is a last resort – those of us who view the world with a ‘glass half full’ attitude, prefer the ‘P’ word . . . . . postpone.

Right now there may be a number of postponements in the works and that’s ok. Worldwide people, venues, vendors and guests understand the uncertainty we are all facing. It will all be ok.

Communication is key. All of the people and businesses involved in your event will be doing their best to stick to the original plan but if a postponement is necessary – it will all be ok. Just breathe.

Think about things systematically – write a list, divide tasks with your partner/support people and work your way through it.

Contact your wedding planner or your venue and vendors and discuss your options. Write notes and agree on timelines to make decisions.

Remain calm – It will all be ok.

If you are contacted by your guests and asked questions you cannot answer as yet. Let them know – it will all be ok and you will contact them with an update as soon as you can.

Your plans may have to change, you might have to set a new date, and/or replace vendors who are unavailable on your new date. It will all be ok. There will be many couples, venues and vendors in the same situation and this means new opportunities and options. Remember – glass half full.

Black Tie Events in Melbourne would love to assist wherever we can with your event MC DJ needs, so get in touch with Mark on 0400 447 552 to discuss your postponed wedding or event –  or send an enquiry online for an appointment.

It will all be ok.
