One question often asked is how much? Are we the cheapest? Our own market research tells us the answer is NO. A large number of DJ’s are single, part-time operators normally specialising in Techno, Club and House etc. Dealings are usually cash only! When it comes to a Wedding or a Corporate Function they have little or no idea. We are a professional, full time company with several full time staff and we specialise in Weddings and Corporate entertainment. We also take pride in ensuring that your function runs smoothly and that all tastes are catered for.

We are more than happy to be your Master of Ceremonies and your DJ. This way we can co-ordinate all of your requirements and blend them with the requirements of your function centre.

In our Corporate Packages our Black Tie MC and Awards Night Packages include this service and consequently there is no hidden extra charge.

All of our Wedding Packages include this service and consequently there is no hidden extra charge.

Other attributes that you ought to consider:

  • We are a registered company.
  • We are registered for GST.
  • We have Public Liability Insurance cover.
  • We carry a PPCA licence for public performance of recorded music.
  • We have modern, tastefully presented equipment.
  • We have back up equipment in case of failure.

IMPORTANT – PPCA LICENSES & PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE

A PPCA license is required by an operator for the public broadcast of all music. A professional operator will have this license, which covers the collection and distribution of royalties to the performers. Operators not holding a PPCA license will be subject to heavy fines and may have their equipment turned off during a function – this could be yours! Ask your operator to quote their license number or for further information contact the PPCA on 02 9267 7996

It is important that your operator is covered for Public Liability Insurance. Many venues demand that a minimum cover of $5 million is held. At Black Tie Events we hold $10million cover. Ask to see the cover note from your DJ.

INCLUDED IN ALL WEDDING PACKAGES

  • We will visit you at your home and spend about one hour discussing all of the procedures, formats, special effects, and music for your special day.
  • We will check with the venue to see if any modifications are needed to your requirements.
  • We always dress in a dinner suit and bow tie. (Unless we are given instructions to the contrary by you.)
  • We will be set up at your reception 30 minutes before your guests arrive in the dining area.
  • If authorised by you, we will put music request cards and lettergram cards on the tables for your guests.
  • We will introduce ourselves to the parents and members of the bridal party.
  • We will introduce ourselves to all persons involved in formalities, inform / advise them of any protocols. We will also alert them prior to the commencement of the formality in which they are involved.
  • We will co-ordinate with the venue to ensure readiness for formalities and timings for music brackets.
  • We will co-ordinate with any professional video / photographer(s) and advise them of times and locations of events, special effects etc.
  • We will liaise with you during the course of your reception to ensure your requirements are being fulfilled.
  • We will co-ordinate the conclusion of your reception and if appropriate, collect and return items such as cameras, guest books and supplied CD’s.

INCLUDED IN ALL CORPORATE PACKAGES

  • We will check with the venue to see if any modifications are needed to your requirements.
  • We always dress in a Corporate Black Tie Events shirt and tie. (Unless we are given instructions to the contrary by you.)
